On 18 July, we brought more than 100 builders to Ljubljana for the 8x Mobile Hackathon.
The venue was Tehnološki park Ljubljana, with two floors full of builders, laptops, ideas, half-working demos, last-minute fixes, and teams trying to ship something real in one day.
More than 60 teams built throughout the day. Some came with clear ideas. Some figured it out in the room. By the end, the room had turned into exactly what a good hackathon should feel like: fast, messy, useful, and full of people helping each other move.
We were lucky to have strong partners behind the event, including OpenAI, ElevenLabs, PostHog, bilt.me, Silicon Gardens, Bek Ventures, and of course 8x.

Our Judges
A special thank you to all of the judges who gave their Saturday to review projects, ask sharp questions, and give builders useful feedback:
Darijan Ducic, Rok Bozic, Jaka Bavdek, Theo Bui, Devanshi Jain, Frenk Dragar, Lodovico Benvenuti, Lenart Bobek, Matjaz Matt Petermanž, Leonhard Prinz, Taja Križnar Starčič, and Jan Faflík.
Their time mattered. A one-day hackathon only works when judges take the demos seriously, push the teams on what they built, and help make the final decisions feel earned.
Thank You, Ljubljana
Huge thanks to everyone who came, built, judged, partnered, helped with the venue, and spent their Saturday with us.
The best part of the day was not only the final pitches. It was watching teams go from idea to prototype in a few hours, seeing builders meet each other for the first time, and feeling the room get more focused as the deadline got closer.
Thank you to Tehnološki park Ljubljana for hosting us across two floors and making the day feel properly alive.
Already looking forward to the next one.
